SSE Home Services mark first
year with 20,000 boiler services
Scottish & Southern Energy Group
Plc (SSE) are approaching the first year anniversary of
the launch of their domestic gas service, maintenance and
installation business, SSE Home Services Limited (SHS).
Building upon existing customer relationships enjoyed by
Southern Electric Contracting, SHS has made a tremendous
early impact within the M&E contracting sector. The
company already employs 200 staff, including 130 engineers,
and, sooner than expected, has celebrated completing 20,000
boiler services - a milestone which highlights just how
quickly the business is growing.
SHS comprises a dedicated 24 hour
call centre, Corgi registered engineers and sales teams.
Vixensoft were chosen to deliver a customised and integrated
software solution designed to maximise efficiency, deliver
advanced reports and develop good working practices from
the outset. The solution requirements included a call centre
desktop application, a BACSTEL-IP payment processing facility,
Streamline card payment connection, resource planning and
work scheduling capability, with an integrated mobile data
connection service to the engineering team.
Following a consultation and specification
period, work began on the considerable software development
required for Phase One of the project only 13 weeks in advance
of the proposed company launch date. Despite the limited
time available, Vixensoft and SHS met their Phase One “Go
Live” deadline, allowing for the project management,
installation and training stages to be completed on schedule
for the start up.
A year on, SHS and Vixensoft continue
to work closely together as the solution evolves to meet
the demands of the rapidly growing business. |
