30 years and counting
|
| 1978 - 1995 |
By software company standards,
we have enjoyed a long history. Originally formed in 1978
as Briter Computer Systems Ltd we were established as a
software house, developing and selling bespoke systems.
We moved into the building services sector in 1984 with
the launch of Vixen, an integrated industry-specific software
solution. While this approach to multi-user applications
is now considered a commercially vital industry-standard,
it was, at the time, a pioneering innovation.
During a period of continued success, Briter's solution
was independently chosen by the contracting divisions of
eight of the twelve regionalised electricity companies,
following privatisation of the Electricity Board. These
significant contracts cemented the company's position as
a market leader
within the building services and maintenance industries
and encouraged future specialisation.

| "2008
is a milestone for us. We've come a long way since
our humble beginnings and while it's nice to reflect
on our success, our focus is still very much on the
future, its challenges and possibilities" |
Brian Rogers, Chairman

| 1995 - 2001 |
In 1995 Briter was approached and
subsequently sold to an established software company supplying
systems to independent vertical markets which included healthcare,
hospitality, finance and manufacturing. Briter became the
Construction Division of LK Global Ltd, remaining managerially
autonomous. LK Global became a publicly listed company on
the NASDAQ in 1997 as Aremissoft Corp. and a programme of
worldwide software company acquisitions followed, which saw
the Group develop a
presence in the USA, India and throughout Europe.
Regrettably, owing to the Goup’s failure to honour investment
promises made to Aremissoft Construction, managers of the
Division (previously the directors of Briter) initiated a
management-buyout of the Division's software assets, personnel
and client liability. |
| 2001 - 2008 |
| In 2001, the company was reformed
as Vixen Software Solutions Ltd, adopting the name of the
original Briter software and managed by four directors,
all of whom continue to manage the company in 2008. All
staff, numbering 48 at that time, were retained, and support
of exisiting
customer contracts continued uninterrupted.
Today, the Board of Directors includes two of the founding
directors of Briter Computer Systems: Brian Rogers and Cahal
Dallat. The other Directors are Kevin Balfe, a former director
of Briter joining in 1991; Wayne Rogers, who joined the
company in 1982 and is now the MD, and the most recent appointment,
David Ovington, Software Director.
Building upon the successes of the past, and with what is
arguably unparalleled industry expertise, we continue to
specialise in solutions for the building services, maintenance
and construction industries, further developing our portfolio
of applications.
